Our Story
Grow Public Schools was founded by Barbara Grimm Marshall, who inspired our philosophy and academic model aimed at serving students in the underserved areas of Kern County, first at Grow Academy Arvin, which opened in 2011, followed by Grow Academy Shafter in 2017. This endeavor was fueled by her passion for educational equity and a belief in the transformative power of education and wellness. Through innovative curriculum, personalized learning approaches, and a commitment to community engagement, Barbara's vision has touched countless lives, inspiring students to dream big and achieve their fullest potential. Her legacy is one of empowerment, resilience, and a commitment to building a brighter future for generations to come.
