Notice of Enrollment Rights & Complaint Procedure

Charter schools must provide equal access to all students, regardless of academic performance, background, or personal characteristics. A charter school cannot discourage or deny enrollment based on factors such as academic achievement, economic status, English proficiency, ethnicity, foster care status, homelessness, nationality, race, sexual orientation, or disabilities. Additionally, charter schools cannot require student records before enrollment or encourage students to disenroll for reasons other than disciplinary action.If you believe a charter school has violated these rights, you may submit a complaint. Download and complete the Charter School Complaint Form, then submit it to the appropriate charter school authorizer.
